Keith is an artist, critic and art
show judge. He travels about Ontario
making sketches of landscapes. He
takes these sketches back to his
Markham home and transforms them
into larger statements. He tries
to show his viewers some aspect
of Ontario that perhaps they were
not aware. This year he traveled
to the many beaches of Ontario.
His
love of the Ontario landscape
began at an early age. He grew
up in York region surrounded by
lush farmland and great works
of art that his grandfather (a
director of Mallanies Art Gallery
in Toronto) brought home. It was
this combination that inspired
Keith to pursue a career in art.
He spent 34 years as an art teacher,
the last twenty as Head of the
Art Dept at Woburn Collegiate.
Now he paints full time.
This year Keith has been painting
in the York County forest, Algonquin
Park and downtown Toronto.
